Middle Branch Lake
This lake is just as beautiful as Middle Settlement Lake, if not moreso. The two are located less than two miles away as the crow flies, and not much more by trail. On one trip I saw four loons on this lake; one even swam less than 25 feet from the front of our lean-to. Unfortunately I didn't have a telephoto lens with me, so the photos I took did not come out well. A fun 10-mile loop can be had incorporating both Middle Branch and Middle Settlement Lakes, all on fairly easy trails.
